Apparently Sam Altman does not respect olive oil

Openi Sam Altman’s CEO is using its olive oil inefficient in a “crime for horticulture”, the financial Times refers humorously.

For his “Lunch With the Ft” series, the card joined Altman in his kitchen. He prepared a garlic pasta and salad, taking a rare pause from his demanding work of supporting the interruption of the American copyright law.

Altman uses Graza olive oil, which presents itself in strictly splendidly popular bottles that are popular on social media (after all it is millennial). But Altman’s preference for “trendy” oil too much prices and “fashionable” is not crime-crime is that it seems basically misunderstanding the Graza Schatk. The company sells “sizzle” varieties and “raining” distinctly for its olive oil to jump and finish the dishes, respectively.

To be honest, the cultivation of Spanish olives is not exactly a common knowledge. But if you are so dedicated to the art of cooking that you stock up on two types of olive oil on the kitchen counter, you would probably know that a bottle is much more expensive than the other because it is designed to be used as a post-cooking “rain”, not a frying oil.

Altman used “rainy” finishing oil in his pan, even if the “sizzle” oil was a few centimeters away. It’s like taking fresh basil and cooking it in a pan as if they were spinach: it is a waste of precious earth material. At that rhythm, you could also simply launch some dollar banknotes in the pan … which is not Not The Silicon Valley startup playbook, incidentally.

Openii has collected $ 40 billion from record in a new financing round this year, but continues to bleed money, losing about $ 5 billion last year. It is not clear how the company will transform a profit with these monumental costs. Openi was at some point losing money on his Pro Pro $ 200 plan per month.

Pas Culinary Culinary of Altman probably cannot shed light on Openi’s financials. But if you are the type of person who loses an expensive kitchen oil, it may be that you are also burning money VC.
