Roblox now allows creators to sell physical products within their experiences


Roblox has announced Thursday that creators can now sell physical products directly within their experiences and games on the platform with the launch of New Commerce bees.

The offer provides creators with a new way of generating entrances beyond purchases of virtual goods or one -off commissions to access specific experiences.

The company began to test the ability to buy physical goods in some brand experiences in mid -2010. Last September, Roblox announced that creators would soon be able to sell physical objects in experiences thanks to a partnership with Shopify.

Now, Roblox is making integration for all creators and brands suitable after completing a closed beta test of its commercial bees available.

The possibility of buying physical products will be available in experiences of all ages for US users aged 13 or over 13 years. Roblox plans to add more partners and expand the function to further markets in the future.

For brands, trade bees offer a new way to reach customers. For example, the Fenty beauty brand will launch a shoppable experience within Roblox to offer an exclusive lucid bomb shade called “Grape Splash”.

Creators and suitable brands can also group physical purchases with digital items through the new trade bees of trade. This means that you could buy a physical sweatshirt and also receive one for your digital avatar.

The new approved merchandiser program of Roblox (AMP) allows creators and brands to connect their purchases of real shops or online to the Avatar items and accessories on Roblox.

Amp and a badge on physical products will serve as a sign of authenticity to show consumers that the articles are official. The products with the badge will include a code for a unique digital element relevant to the IP that can use on Roblox.

“Our vision for the future of shopping is a more exciting and social experience of the traditional online shopping experience,” said the company in a blog post. “On Roblox, you can explore virtual stores, try clothes and share experience with others. This naturally creates interest and purchase intent. Now we are doing a further step forward, filling the gap between virtual and real shopping allowing Roblox users to buy physical objects.”

Roblox notes that the creator of study Twin Atlas used commercial bees in their games to sell physical products and ended up seeing the revenue of the six -digit trade during the first weeks. About 90% of their total orders are made through the integration of the game trade, says Roblox.
